In 1996, my mother, Dianne (1944-2010), and I began teaching music from our home in Mississauga. The name of the school was Piano Teacher Associates and many of our original students remember the little white sign on our front yard.
Ten years later, we outgrew the connes of our basement studios and decided to open a full school and retail area at Artesian Drive. We quickly grew to over 400 students learning piano, guitar, drums, violin, vocal, and theory to name a few which required a slight adjustment to the name of the business... PTA Music.
Today, we have been serving the local community for over 15 years, providing lessons to students of all ages and levels with a diverse assortment of instruments in addition to a thriving art and tuition programs.
Our goal is to encourage students to become more aware of the musical world that surrounds them, therefore creating music appreciation and passion. Our students perform at local music festivals and many have placed and won scholarships.
You only have to look at our “Star-Student” wall to see the many accomplishments of our wonderful students and teachers.
Our programs are based on the Royal Conservatory of Music, Canadian Conservatory of Music, and Ontario School Curriculums ensuring that we maintain broad based learning that focuses on foundational skills and development, continual goal setting and celebration of creativity and achievements. In addition, our students participate in two recitals per year held at the Noel Ryan Auditorium in Mississauga.
We look forward to providing you and your family with educational programs that are both rewarding and fun.
